Motherhood portraiture has a special place in my heart and let me tell you why. I’ve been blessed with two beautiful sons, now college and middle school ages. My big photography regret from when they were little is that I never had a beautiful portrait photographed of me with my sons. Back then, it never even occurred to me that later in life I would like to have something like this to look back on. Not only would it have been wonderful to capture their tiny noses, chubby cheeks, and sweet innocence while they were still young, but I’ll be vain and honest here: It would have been wonderful to have a portrait of me at my prime, feeling beautiful, youthful, and happy cuddling the people that matter most in my life. I blinked and they were grown.
I also believe that photos like these are important for kids to see so they are reminded for decades to come how much their mother's eyes lit up when she looked at them. A fine portrait is a daily reminder of the love and joy in your home and a lifetime investment that will be a wonderful gift for your children's children.
Children may forget what you say, but they'll never forget how you made them feel.
Having children puts the world in perspective. Everything else just disappears. --Kate Winslet
You will always be the miracle that makes my life complete.
